We get a good look at what’s ahead and what players of the demo have been experiencing for a few months. Ghostrunner sees the player take on the role of a cyber-warrior, who seems to be the sole character able to fight both in the physical world and in cyberspace. As a management survival sim game it's completely different to Ghostrunner, but both feature the interesting idea of humanity's last city, and last presence on Earth. In addition, Frostpunk is coming to consoles later this year.

There seems to be no free choice left: these implants, given out in childhood, even decide "which social group a person belongs to" and "If you weren't lucky enough to get a good life, there is nothing you can do." Post-apocalyptic and cyberpunk appear to be popular themes in gaming lately, as is probably most obvious with Cyberpunk 2077.
Society is now defined by "the category of implants" a person has.
What's left of the world is now ruled by the Keymaster. Ghostrunner is set in a post-apocalyptic, cyberpunk world, in which a "global cataclysam" forced the survivors to take up residence in "humanity's last remaining shelter, a great tower-city" built by the Architect, a mysterious figure who apparently died just as mysteriously long before.
The trailer for Ghostrunner doesn't give much away aside from an electric-blue whip and a lot of parkour, and it's in the video description and newly-live Steam page where most of the information comes from.
